Mankato, Minn. – David Blumer (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain) was named UMAC Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Blumer was the first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) finisher at the Crown Invitational over the weekend crossing the finish line second. He was only topped by a Division II runner from University of Minnesota-Duluth by 10 seconds. His time of 26:14.23 broke the men’s 8K school record by 45 seconds to help the Vikings finish seventh.
Blumer and the Vikings have this coming weekend off before hosting the UMAC Championships on October 29. The race will take place at Minneopa Golf Course with the women starting at noon, and the men at 1 p.m.
