Ashland, Wis. – The Bethany Lutheran men’s basketball team extended their conference winning streak to three games by defeating Northland 59-36. The Vikings didn’t shoot the ball very well, but good defense led to the win.

The Vikings held the Lumberjacks to season low 36 points, and never trailed in the game. Bethany Lutheran’s depth led to extending the lead in the second half, with eight different players scoring in the second half.

Bethany was led by sophomore guard Alex Weldon (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/LinMar), who had a team high 19 points and eight rebounds. Sami Onsomu (Mankato, Minn/Mankato East) dished in 11 points of his own, while Garrett Benson (Rochester, Minn/Rochester Mayo) added eight points off of the bench.

Bethany will continue conference play next weekend when they will play host to preseason favorite Minnesota-Morris Friday night, and Presentation on Saturday afternoon.
