Bethany Lutheran College is proud to announce the new Coordinator of Student Activities/Intramurals and Head Softball Coach, Renee Tatge.

Tatge is already in-tune with the BLC community as a graduate, former softball student-athlete, and current adjunct faculty member. She has 16 years of softball playing experience under her belt, along with three years of fast pitch umpiring. While competing for the Vikings she pitched 40 complete games in 59 appearances, ranking her second in the BLC softball record books. Tatge is also second in career innings pitched with 287.1, and in career strikeouts recording 148. She served as team captain during her senior year for the Vikings, and also earned UMAC Academic All-Conference.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to again be part of the Bethany softball program after my years as a player at Bethany,” Tatge said. This is an exciting time for the program as it continues to build and mature. Last year the team achieved significant milestones in conference play and I plan to build upon that great foundation.”

The Indiana native graduated from BLC in 2007, and continued her education in Mathematics at Minnesota State, Mankato.

Athletic Director Karl Fager stated, “We are happy to have Renee on board and will be working closely with her to help make her transition a smooth one.”
