Mankato, Minn. – The men’s basketball team will host Northwestern in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship Saturday, February 25 at 7 p.m. This is the first time in school history the men’s basketball team will host the UMAC Championship. The Vikings secured the No. 1 seed after winning its first regular season UMAC Championship.
 
Bethany and Northwestern have proven to be the top two teams in the UMAC. Coming in as the No. 1 and No. 2 seed each squad took care of business in its UMAC Semifinal game, Bethany defeated Minnesota-Morris 84-75 and Northwestern defeated St. Scholastica 79-73. Not only is the UMAC Post-Season Championship at stake, but also an automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
 
The Vikings and Eagles have met twice this season. Both games were won by Bethany but only by a combined 10 points. The Vikings hosted the first contest winning in overtime with a final score of 80-73. At Northwestern, Bethany came back in the last six minutes to defeat the Eagles 59-56.
