Hopkins shines, but Vikings fall to Bethel

Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Through three games, sophomore Mitchell Hopkins had scored a total of four points. Tuesday night against Bethel at the Sports and Fitness Center, he erupted for 24 points helping to keep the Vikings in the game throughout, but in the end, the Royals got the better of BLC taking the contest 75-63.

Hopkins had eight first half points while completing a pair of and-one opportunities to assist in keeping the Vikings close as they trailed 40-35 at the break. In the second stanza, he drained a trifecta of threes and wound up 8-for-11 from the field and collected four rebounds.

Jacob Wensmann and Nick Sanborn were Bethany's next high scorers with eight points each. Wensmann was the high rebounder with seven.

Bethany shot 41 percent for the game while Bethel shot at a 55 percent clip led by Brycen Wojta's 19 points who went 5-for-6 from distance.

Bethany (0-4) is off until December 6 when they host Central for a 7:30 p.m. start.
