Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany women's basketball team took to the court for their final game before the Thanksgiving holiday for a home tilt with Buena Vista. Freshman
Angie Scheffler had a stellar game pouring in a game-high, and career-high, 24 points, but the Vikings fell to the Beavers 99-72.
A high scoring ball game was expected coming in with both teams averaging over 80 points a contest and that's what both teams delivered. The teams combined for 83 first half points and 88 more in the second half.
Scheffler did lead four Vikings in double figures.
Kasslin Swenson, after being in foul trouble in the first half, had a nice effort in the second finishing with 15 points on nine of ten shooting from the foul line.
Jade Pelzl finished with 14 points and seven assists and
Aimie Wiechmann had 12 points.
The game was close in the first half until Buena Vista started to pull away late and Susan Kies was the reason why. She came in averaging 13.5 points, but scored 24 in the first 20 minutes on her way to game-high 35 points.
Bethany (1-3) is off until December 4 when they travel to Waldorf for a 6 p.m. contest.
