Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. - Three days after collecting their first win of the season at Saint Mary's, the Bethany men's basketball team traveled to another MIAC opponent, St. Thomas, in hopes of another road victory. The No. 12 Tommies proved deserving of their national ranking as they handed the Vikings a 92-57 defeat.
Jacob Wensmann had another big day for Bethany as he led all scorers with 23 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the floor.
Jeremiah Fogarty had nine points and dished out seven assists.
Connor Nord led three St. Thomas players in double figures with 15 points as the Tommies shot nearly 58 percent from the floor for the game. Thirteen different players scored for St. Thomas and they sank 11 3-pointers.
Trent Kuechenmeister gave Bethany an early lead after draining a 3. Wensmann followed with a lay-in that put the Vikings up 7-6 two and a half minutes in.
Erik Tengwall then hit a 3 to regain the lead for St. Thomas. A Kuechenmeister lay-in cut the Tommies lead to 24-21 with 8:22 remaining in the half, but a 25-4 UST run over the next seven minutes would prove to be too much for the Vikings to overcome.
Bethany returns home for the final game before the holiday break as they entertain Coe College Thursday at 7 p.m.
