Undefeated Dubuque tops Bethany men

Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The University of Dubuque used a late first half run to pull away from the Bethany Lutheran Vikings en route to an 85-62 victory to remain unbeaten at 8-0.

Midway through the first half, the Vikings were giving the Spartans a run for their money. After Dubuque scored the game's first seven points, Bethany countered with eight of their own to take a one-point lead. A Neil Eichten three gave Bethany a 20-15 lead with 10:36 left in the half. It was all Dubuque the rest of the half though. They proceeded to go on a 13-0 run to go up 28-20. The run would extend to 24-3 before Eichten drained a 55-foot heave at the buzzer to make the score 39-26 at the break.

Bethany cut the halftime deficit to seven at 41-34 three minutes into the second half, but Dubuque quickly countered with six straight to keep the lead in double digits the rest of the way.
