MANKATO, Minn. – The men's basketball team played the Wartburg Knights in the North Gym of the Sports and Fitness Center in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night. The Wartburg Knights snuck past the Vikings 98-95.
 
The Knights are a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC). After finishing tied for second place in regular-season Iowa Conference play and taking the runner-up spot in the IIAC Tournament last season, Wartburg was picked to finish second in this year's IIAC preseason poll.
 
Six different Vikings reached double figures in the efforts against Wartburg. Bethany was led by Senior 
Brandyn Frelix (Minneapolis, Minn.), finishing with 20 points and six rebounds. Newcomer 
Kyle Kubesh (Buffalo Lake, Minn.) added 15 points to the offensive attack while recording eight rebounds.
Neil Eichten (Wabasso, Minn.) contributed with 13 points while 
Austin Bauer (Caladonia, Minn.) and 
Blake Lindstrom (Hanley Falls, Minn.) each finished with 12 points. Rounding out the scoring attack for the Vikings was junior Brady Rose (Le Sueur, Minn.) with 11 points.

The Vikings (1-2) will resume play on Saturday, November 26
th at home against St. Olaf. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
