Men's Basketball Earns Important Victory over Crown

 
ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The men's basketball team enters the final weekend of the regular season in need of two victories over Crown and Minnesota Morris, as well as help from around the conference to earn a berth in the 2016 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament.
 
On Friday night, the Vikings defeated the Crown Storm 98-90 to stay in the Postseason playoff picture.
 
Five Vikings reached double figures in the victory over the Storm. Nick Sanborn (Lakeville, Minn.) led the way for Bethany with 25 points and five rebounds. Brandyn Frelix (Minneapolis, Minn.) recorded 22 points while Neil Eichten (Wabasso, Minn.) and Jared Merchant (Kimball, Minn.) each scored 15 points in the efforts over the Storm. Zach Brandts (St. James, Minn.) rounded out double figures for the Vikings by adding 13 points to the offensive attack of the Vikings.
 
Bethany (9-15, 7-8 in UMAC) finished the contest shooting 63.2% (36-57) from the field while the Storm went 45.2 % (33-73) on Friday night.
 
Saturday, February 20th the Vikings will close out their regular season schedule with a UMAC matchup against Minnesota Morris starting at 3 p.m. Stay current with Vikings athletics at blcvikings.com.
