JORDAN, Minn. – The BLC women's tennis team played their final match of the season against Crown College on Friday evening. The Vikings finished their season with a decisive 6-3 victory over the Storm.
The Vikings shined in doubles play, sweeping the Storm 3-0. Denae Walton/Leah Schaefer paired up at #1 doubles and won 8-4. The duo finished the season 4-9 at #1 doubles. In Nicole Moldstad's absence, Justine Bennett teamed up with Averi Cash. It was the first time the two seniors played together all year and they won at #2 doubles by a score of 8-3. Sadie Sandersfeld/Emily Barthel won their match at #3 doubles 8-1.
The Vikings got three wins at the singles positions, beginning with Leah Schaefer at #2. Schaefer won her match 6-2, 6-4. Justine Bennett went 2-0 on the day, winning her match at #3 6-4, 6-0. Averi Cash played the #4 spot today and came away with an impressive three-set victory, 3-6, 6-3, 12-10.
The Vikings have concluded their season and will graduate three seniors in Justine Bennett, Nicole Moldstad, and Averi Cash.
