DULUTH, Minn. – The 4th seeded BLC men's tennis team fell to top-seeded St. Scholastica 9-0 in the first round of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) tournament.
 
The Saints were dominant in doubles play, losing only a total of three games in the match. The Vikings #1 doubles team of Laine Larson/Dalton Werckman fell 8-2. Carter Dahl/Dexter Jackson lost 8-1 at #2 doubles and Jordan Poff/Kenny Johnson lost 8-0 at #3.
 
The Vikings had their hands full in their singles matches as well. The regular season champion Saints brought a combined UMAC singles record of 40-2 into the tournament. Laine Larson lost at the #1 singles position 6-0, 6-1. Dalton Werckman was defeated 6-3, 6-1 at #2 singles. Carter Dahl battled his opponent at #3 singles, but lost 6-1, 7-5. Dexter Jackson won a total of eight games at #4 singles, but lost 6-4, 6-4. Jordan Poff lost 6-0, 6-4 at #5 and Kenny Johnson lost 6-0, 6-0 at #6.
 
The Vikings finished the season with an overall record of 9-12 and a UMAC record of 4-3. Dexter Jackson finished the season with an overall singles record of 11-9 and went 5-2 in the UMAC. The doubles teams of Laine Larson/Dalton Werckman and Carter Dahl/Dexter Jackson both finished with 10-11 records overall and 5-2 records in UMAC play.
 
The Vikings will say goodbye to seniors Dexter Jackson and Kenny Johnson.
