Mankato, MN. – The Bethany Lutheran College women's basketball team beat the Crown College Storm 81-28. The win puts the Vikings record at 12-4 and places them in a tie for first place in the UMAC conference, with a record of 6-1.
The Storm would score the first two points of the game, but the Vikings would take over from there. The Vikings would go on a 19-2 run to end the first quarter, with a 19-4 lead. The Vikings didn't let up in the second quarter, going on a 24-9 run and ending the first half up 33-13. In the first half,
Haley Sandin scored 8 points and
Hanna Geistfeld had a near double double with 7 points and 8 rebounds.
The second half held more of the same for the Vikings. The Storm had no response to the Vikings ball movement, with the Vikings recording 20 assists on the game.
Emilee Gustin scored the team high 11 points and
Bethany Karnopp led the team with 5 rebounds.
The Vikings outpaced the Storm in nearly every statistic. The Vikings shot 43% from the field, 32% from three, and 50% from the line.
