Men's Basketball Travels to California

MANKATO, Minn.--  The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team (5-5 overall) travels to compete in California Lutheran's tournament Saturday, Dec. 28 and Monday, Dec. 30. The Vikings will face Messiah (6-3) Saturday at 7 p.m. (Pacific) and Monday's opponent will be determined from the 5 p.m. game Saturday.

The Series
BLC has never previously faced Messiah or Rosemont. CalLu leads the series at 1-0 as the previous meeting was Jan. 2, 2010 in California.

Bethany Lutheran
Senior Trenton Krueger (Eagan, Minn.) leads the team with 15.3 PPG. Three teammates join him in double digits as sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) has 15.0 PPG, junior Brian Smith (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) averages 13.8 PPG and classmate Jared Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) has 13.7.

Krueger leads the team on the glass with his 8.5 rebounds/game. Mayfield has a team-high 69 assists and Smith leads the way with 21 steals.

Career Record Watch
Krueger is first in blocks (64), fifth in rebounds (453), and 10th in field goals (348). Milinkovich is fifth in blocks (46).

Messiah
Three players average in double digits as Colin Sareyka has 20.9 PPG. EJ Porter follows with 14.1 and Josh Darville has 11.1. Darville averages a double dobule with his team-best 10.2 rebounds/game.
