PELLA, Iowa—Nonconference opponent Central (4-4 overall) edged Bethany Lutheran (4-3) 90-89 Saturday. The Dutch led 38-36 at halftime and the score continued to remain close in the second half. The final frame featured nine ties which included 89 all with 0:10 to go.
The Vikings chose to foul to put Central at the free throw line. The Dutch made one of their two attempts to give them the one-point lead and eventual win.
Junior Jared Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) and sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) co-led the team with 22 points. Senior Trenton Krueger (Eagan, Minn.) joined them in double digits with his 18 points and 11 rebounds to finish with a double double. Junior Trevin Nelson (Chisago Lakes, Minn.) completed those in double digits with 12 points.
BLC returns to the court Wednesday when they host Northwestern at 5:30 p.m.
