Men's Basketball Travels to Face Northwestern

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team (16-5 overall, 11-1 UMAC) continues its three-game road trip Wednesday against Northwestern (16-6, 12-1) at 5:30 p.m. The Eagles are in first and the Vikings are tied for second in the conference standings. BLC enters the week on a 11-game winning streak and Northwestern has won its last 10-straight.

The Series
The Eagles own the all-time series lead at 28-11, though the Vikings claimed the first meeting of the season, 100-98 in overtime on Dec. 11.

Bethany Lutheran
The Vikings have four players in double digits as sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) leads the team with 17.7 PPG. Senior Trenton Krueger (Eagan, Minn.) follows at 16.1 and juniors Jared Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) and Brian Smith (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) round out the leading scorers with 13.2 and 11.4 PPG, respectively.

Krueger leads the team on the glass with his 9.0 rebounds/game. Mayfield has a team-high 144 assists and co-leads the team with Smith with 35 steals.

Career Record Watch
Krueger is first in blocks (74) and field goals (428), third in rebounds (557), and tied for eighth in points (1,067). Jared Milinkovich is third in blocks (54) and Mayfield is fifth in assists (282). Freshman Hunter Nielsen (New Prague, Minn.) is tied for 10th in blocks (27).

Single Season Record Watch
Mayfield is second in assists (144) and Nielsen is tied for fourth in blocked shots (27).

Krueger is fourth in rebounds (189) and ninth in blocks (20).

Jared Milinkovich is 67th in field goal percentage (56.9) and Nielsen is 96th in blocks (27).

Mayfield is the third-leading scorer (17.7 PPG), and Krueger is the fourth-leading scorer (17.0) and fourth-leading rebounder (8.9 rebounds/game).

Northwestern
Noah Alm leads a group of five players in double digits with 18.2 PPG. Tanner Youngberg follows at 15.7 PPG, Michael Moore has 13.9, Solomon Bach is at 13.5 and Kyle Kaemingk has 10.0 PPG.

Youngberg averages a double double with 10.9 rebounds/game.
