This was the second appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Vikings, and is the second trip in the last three years.

Sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) became the 10th member of the program's 1,000 career point club on his triple with 4:55 left in the first half. He had 12 of his points in the first half alone and finished with 28 in the contest. This point total marks a new NCAA tournament game high as then-sophomore Trenton Krueger (Eagan, Minn.) had 25 against St. John's in 2018. Mayfield's five three-point field goals matched the mark set by Neil Eichten against St. John's. His 10 field goals broke the previous record of seven set by three players in the contest against the Johnnies.

Junior Brian Smith (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) joined Mayfield in double figures with 16 points.

The Bears jumped to a 12-7 lead in the first five minutes of the contest and never looked back. WashU later led 57-35 at halftime.

As a team, the Bears held the advantages in all three team shooting percentages and out-rebounded BLC 46-22.

Bethany held the advantage in blocks (3-0). This tied the team record in the NCAA Tournament, as the Vikings previously did this against St. John's in 2018.

BLC set season records in points, blocks, assists, field goals, three-point field goals, and wins. A full season recap to come in the near future.
