ASHLAND, Wis. — The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team (7-2 overall, 2-0 UMAC) defeated Northland (1-6, 0-2) 87-38 Saturday afternoon. This was the 17
th-straight win over the LumberJills in series history.
The Vikings opened the first minute of the contest on a 5-0 run and never looked back. BLC led 22-3 after the first quarter, and 45-10 at halftime.
Senior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) already had a double double at the break with 21 points and 10 rebounds. She finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds in her three quarters of play.
A similar story continued in the second half as Bethany led 66-20 at the end of the third.
Sophomore Sara Kottke (Buffalo Lake, Minn.) joined Geistfeld in double digits with 17 points and freshman Haley Meyer (Centerville, SD) had a career-high 12 points and seven rebounds.
Bethany owned the team advantages in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, rebounds, assists, and steals.
The Vikings conclude their 11-game road trip Tuesday at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
