WAVERLY, Iowa - The Bethany Lutheran men's tennis team traveled to Wartburg Saturday and defeated the Knights 5-4. With the win the Vikings move to 1-0 on the year while the Knights fall to 1-1.
"Kyle Deyo and Stepan Chernegov really stepped up for us in their first varsity collegiate action," said Head Coach Tony Boehler. "Their win at #3 doubles was pivotal for us and that's somewhere we have struggled as a team in the past. Marcos Borobia Arias is also an incredible leader of our team and he played a great match at #1 singles for us and got a win as well. Overall it was a great team effort and I'm happy with the result"
