MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran women's tennis team hosted Martin Luther College on Tuesday afternoon and fell in the match 5-4. With the loss the Vikings fall to 3-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference, while the Knights move to 2-10 overall and 2-4 in the UMAC.
Bethany opened the match with a win at No. 1 doubles from Sailor Mohlenbrock and Emily Yehle and a win at No. 2 doubles from Olaitz Azkue and Kaitlynn Berreau to take a 2-1 lead into singles play. The Knights would win a trio of singles matches in two sets, while Yehle won hers in two sets to make the score 4-3 in favor of the Knights. Mohlenbrock would secure her win at No. 1 singles in the third set but MLC would take the remaining match to claim the win.
