SUPERIOR, Wis. - Bethany men's basketball rolled to a 75-56 win at UW-Superior on Saturday, improving to 9-6 overall and 2-0 in the UMAC.
Max Briggs hit a three to open the scoring and the Vikings never trailed the entire game. Leading 19-13 with nine minutes remaining in the first, Will Walter connected on a three, which sparked a 10-1 run over the next four minutes. Bethany carried a 35-26 lead into the locker room after the Yellowjackets hit a buzzer beater three to end the half.
Superior got within seven points early in the second half before the Vikings went on a 20-7 run, taking a 20-point lead with 8:20 on the clock. Bethany led by as much as 23 points with 4:31 remaining and cruised to the 19-point victory.
Briggs led the Vikings with 14 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, including eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Walter tallied 13 points, while Cole Johnson and Brady Ingersoll each added 11 points. Johnson also had a team-high nine rebounds as the Vikings won on the glass 40-25.
Bethany shot 51.7 percent and made 5-of-18 three-pointers. The Vikings scored 48 points in the paint and forced 12 steals.
The Vikings return home Wednesday night to host Crown.
