ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - Twelve players for Bethany women's basketball scored Saturday in a decisive 60-38 win at Crown. The Vikings complete the series sweep over the Polars, improving to 10-10 overall and 7-0 in the UMAC.Â
After a back-and-forth first quarter that saw three lead changes, Bethany pulled away with a 13-0 run from the end of the first and into the second. Kaylee Hunter hit a three with 6:35 remaining in the half to give the Vikings a 22-12 advantage. The visitors carried a 28-17 lead into the locker room at half.Â
The Vikings reached a 20-point lead on a three by Lauren Bauer late in the third quarter and Head Coach Emma Purfeerst was able to clear her bench in the fourth, getting all 15 players time on the court.Â
Bethany shot 36.5 percent from the floor and made just 6-of-26 from long range. Megan Wegner led the offense with 13 points. She shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe and collected four steals. Morgan Hulke also reached double figures with 11 points while adding seven rebounds and three assists.Â
Bethany out-rebounded Crown 40-28 and was led by Arinn McGee with nine boards. McGee also had six points and three blocks.Â
The Vikings are back home Wednesday evening against Martin Luther. Bethany won the first game of the series 60-58 on Jan. 21.Â
