BECKER, Minn. - Bethany golf competed at the UMAC Preview on Thursday at Pebble Creek Golf Course with the men winning the seven-team event and the women taking third.
The Viking men carded a 298, which was four strokes better than second place Northwestern-St. Paul, while the women posted a 360, which was 44 behind the winners from UNW.
Anthony Nicolai and Tyson Wicklund tied for first, each scoring an even-par 72. Nicolai then won the first playoff hole with a par to earn medalist honors. August Waxin and Andrew King tied for 11th at five-over par 77.
The ladies were led by Eva Stuewe who posted a 13-over 85, which was good enough for seventh place. Flora Wegner tied for 13th at 90, Lydia Schmid tied for 15th at 91, and Mattie Mears tied for 18th with a 94.
Bethany is back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Loras Fall Invite in Dubuque, Iowa.
