DUBUQUE, Iowa - Bethany first year Andrew King tied for first place at the Loras Fall Invitational, played Monday and Tuesday at The Meadows Golf Club, as the Viking men finished fourth out of 12 teams. The Bethany women took third out of three teams. 

The Viking men collectively carded a +30 after improving their day one score of 311 to a day two score of 295. King led the way, posting a 75-72-147 (+3). His second round featured five birdies. 

Anthony Nicolai tied for sixth with a 78-73-151, August Waxin tied for 14th with a 79-74-153 - highlighted by an eagle on the par five ninth hole on day one. Tyson Wicklund tied for 23rd with a 79-76-155. 

The Bethany women posted a score of 364-372-736. Eva Stuewe took third place with an 85-82-167. Lydia Schmid took ninth with an 85-96-181, Mattie Mears took 13th at 98-95-193, and Flora Wegner took 14th at 96-100-196. 

Bethany is back on the links Friday and Saturday at the Twin Ports Invite in Superior, Wis.
