Josh Pederson '14 (pronounced PEDER-sin) begins his fifth season as the Bethany Lutheran head men's golf coach and second as the head women's golf coach in 2023-24.
The 2021-22 season was one to remember for the Vikings as the men's golf team won the UMAC Championships with a three day score of 934 to qualify for the NCAA Championships. On the women's side, Hayley Thompson earned medalist honors at the UMAC Championships, setting UMAC records on her 18 (78), 36 (164), and 54 (250) hole scores.Â
Gabe Stoesz earned First-team All-Conference honors in 2020.
Pederson was a decorated student-athlete and leader during his time with the Vikings golf program. He was a team captain from 2011-14 which included the 2013-14 team that qualified for the NCAA Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2011, Pederson was named the team MVP, and also received the team’s Order of Merit Award in 2012, which is the highest honor bestowed upon a team member.Â

After graduating from BLC, Pederson became the Club Champion at the Waseca Lakeside Golf Club in 2015. Pederson worked at Lakeside from 2006-14, fulfilling the duties of assistant pro including teaching lessons, growing membership, and maintaining the course. Pederson still sits on the Board of Directors at the Lakeside Golf Club.

Pederson graduated from Bethany with a degree in Business Administration and currently works at BLC as the Manager of Human Resources.
