Mitch DeKruif

Mitch DeKruif enters his third season as the Bethany Lutheran men's and women's golf coach in the fall of 2025. DeKruif took over the program in the spring of 2024 and will enter his second full season at the helm this fall.

During the 2024-25 season, DeKruif oversaw junior Keaton Ginter as he climbed the record books, posting the second lowest scoring average in a season at 75.67 and also breaking the program record for low round with a mark of 68 in Waseca on Sept. 19. As a team, the Viking men shot 978 at the UMAC Championships which was the lowest mark since 2021, while the women shot 1353 which was also their lowest total since 2021.

DeKruif comes to Bethany with a wide array of experience in the world of golf, working multiple positions at a pair of prestigious golf courses in the Western United States. He first worked at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado, supervising the golf shop as well as teaching golf lessons to members. Following his time at Broadmoor, he gained membership to the PGA of America while also obtaining a degree in PGA Golf Management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).

While working through courses at UNLV, DeKruif began his time as Golf Operations Caddie at The Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there, he was named 2020 Employee of the Year at the Course, as a leading member of the team that helped re-open following the COVID shutdown.Â
