Danny Kneeland

Danny Kneeland enters his 6th season as an assistant coach at Bethany. His primary responsibilities include working with hitters, infielders, catchers, and baserunners.

In 2023, Kneeland helped guide the Vikings to a 25-11 record and a birth to the NCAA Tournament after winning both the UMAC Regular Season and Tournament titles. They followed that up in 2024 with another UMAC regular season title after going 20-14 and 17-4 in the UMAC.

During the summer months, Kneeland serves as the Field Manager for the Mankato MoonDogs of the Northwoods League.

In his first season as an assistant coach in 2018, Kneeland helped guide the Vikings to their most successful season in school history. The Vikings won a share of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season title for the first time with a record of 14-2 and then went on to win the UMAC postseason tournament for the first time ever. As a result, the Vikings qualified for their first-ever NCAA Regional Tournament.

The 2018 season also brought much individual recognition for the Vikings as they boasted the UMAC Pitcher of the Year in Cody Leitner and Rookie of the Year in Ross Beumer. Additionally, the Vikings had eight players earn All-UMAC First-team honors. The recognition continued as Ross Beumer was named Rookie of the Year by D3baseball.com and Ben Boran was an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA DIII Midwest All-Region Second-team selection.

Kneeland graduated from Bethany in 2017 with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. Danny played four years under Coach Kragh, and appeared in 105 career games as a catcher and second baseman.
