Vikings defeated by UW-River Falls

River Falls, Wis. - The women’s soccer team traveled to UW-River Falls for a non-conference match up Tuesday. The team fell to the Falcons 2-0.

Both goals scored by UW-River Falls came in the first half. Alexa Mowery (Fairmont, Minn./Fairmont) was in goal for the Vikings recording 10 saves.

The Vikings were out shot 30-2 and did not have the opportunity to take a corner kick during the game, while the Falcons took 14.

UW-River Falls is currently third in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). This is the second time the Vikings have played the Falcons, the first was in 2004 when the Vikings fell 0-8.

The Vikings will travel to Duluth for a conference game on Friday against UMAC leader St. Scholastica, and then to Ashland Wis., on Saturday for another conference game versus Northland.
