Vikings remian undefeated in UMAC defeating St. Scholastica

Duluth, Minn. - Bethany Lutheran hit the road to play St. Scholastica for their first conference road game of the year. The Vikings beat the Saints in a close game by a score of 67-55. Bethany continued their good defense holding the Saints to 31.6 field goal percentage, and a very cold 15.4 three-point field goal percentage.

The Vikings were up by two at halftime, but the Saints zone led to the Vikings falling behind in the second half by a high of 12 with 10 minutes left. The Vikings fought back and tied the game with 4 minutes left, and never trailed the rest of the game scoring the last 12 points.

Alex Weldon (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/LinMar) led the Vikings with 22 points, with Derek Peterson (Oakdale, Minn./Tartan) contributing 21 of his own. Gavin Kroehler (Le Sueur Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) and Peterson both grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Vikings in that category.

The Vikings will hit the road again and play in Ashland, Wisconsin tomorrow against Northland at 5 p.m.
