Women's basketball defeats Northland in Ashland

Bethany women’s basketball got back on the winning track by beating Northland 56-49 Saturday afternoon. Bethany ended up splitting the weekend road trip bringing their conference record to 2-1.

The Vikings took the game over in the paint by scoring 36 of their 56 points close to the hoop. Bethany also played very good defense once again holding the LumberJills to a cold 23 shooting percentage from the field.

Junior Jessica Englund (Andover, Minn./St. Francis) led the Vikings with another double-double contributing 28 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Anna Cepek (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) also had a double-double. Cepek had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Vikings will continue UMAC play next weekend when Minnesota-Morris and Presentation come to Mankato, on Friday and Saturday respectively.
