Mankato, Minn. - Bethany Lutheran women’s basketball fell to Minnesota-Morris in a physical game by a score of 75-48. The Vikings were only down by five points at half time however the Cougars took control in the second.
The Vikings shooting got cold in the second half, while the Cougars shooting heated up. During the game, Bethany shot 30.4 percent from the field compared to Minnesota-Morris’s 45.0 percent from the field. The Vikings were also out rebounded 42-37, and committed 17 turnovers on the night.
Bethany was led by Jessica Englund (Andover, Minn./St. Francis) with 16 points. Caitlin Meyer (Mankato, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) led the Vikings pulling down nine rebounds, while both Anna Cepak (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) and England had seven. Sarah Loduha (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) had a hot night shooting for the Vikings making three of five from three point range.
The Vikings will play again tomorrow in Mankato against Presentation at 3 p.m. Bethany is now 6-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play so far.
