St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The women’s basketball team cruised to a 82-54 win over Crown on Friday night. The Vikings built a comfortable 43-18 lead going into halftime in route to their win.

Bethany trailed 5-0 early in a game, but put together a 15 to 0 run and never trailed the rest of the game. The Vikings biggest lead of the game came halfway through the second half when they were leading by 37. The Vikings outrebounded the Storm 57-24, and shot 41.9 percent from the field.

The Vikings were led by Nicole Jones (Mankato, Minn./ Mankato East), who had 28 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Anna Cepek (Aurora Neb./ Aurora), and Jessica England (Andover Minn./ St. Francis) were the only other two players in double figures with 14 and 10 points respectively. Emily Schrupp (Norwood Minn./ Mayer Lutheran) came off of the bench to add eight points and nine rebounds.

Bethany will continue play again on Saturday afternoon when they travel to St. Paul to take on Northwestern at 3 p.m.
