Women's soccer will take on St. Scholastica in UMAC Semifinals today



The Vikings advanced to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Post-season Tournament for the second time in as many years. Bethany Lutheran comes into the Tournament as the number four seed and will take on number one seed St. Scholastica in Duluth today at 11:30 a.m.

The Vikings finished the conference regular season with a 4-5-3 record, they are 8-7-3 overall. Leading the squad offensively is Joelle Pipal (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) who has nine goals this season, which ranks third in the UMAC. She also has two assists giving her a total of 20 points. Another offensive threat is Paige Taylor (Coon Rapids, Minn./Dakota County CC), she has 14 points on five goals and four assists.

Alexa Mowery (Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) has performed well in net for the Vikes. She has a season total 159 saves, good enough for second in the conferece, and a .855 save percentage, which ranks her third in the conference.  Her goals agaisnt average is 1.42.

In the regular season the Vikings fell to St. Scholastica in both meetings, the first time 0-2 in Duluth, and then at home 0-5.
