St. Paul, Minn. – The Vikings had a miraculous comeback in the second half to tie Bethel after going into the locker room down 17-24. Bethany Lutheran took the Royals into double overtime but eventually fell 62-59.
 
Alex Weldon (Limar, Iowa/Linmar) led the Vikings scoring 24 points, he also grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the team defensively. Garrett Benson (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) had a solid game scoring 19 points. He went 7-10 from the field and 3-5 from behind the arc. Derek Peterson (St. Paul, Minn./Tartan) and Patrick Garvin (Jackson, Minn./Jackson Country Central) had four assists each.
 
Bethany Lutheran was outrebounded by Bethel 51-48, and the Royals took advantage of their offensive rebounds scoring 13 second chance points compared to the Vikings two. Bethel also had more points in the paint, and more points off the bench.
 
The Vikings will take on Loras at 6 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul to finish the road trip at the tournament hosted by Bethel.
