Mankato, Minn. – The women’s basketball team was defeated by Wartburg at home 85-48 today. The Vikings fell to 1-7 on the season.
 
The Vikings shot 26.7 percent from the field while the Knights shot 49.1 percent from the field. Bethany struggled from long range as they went 1-12 from behind the three-point arc. Wartburg shot 60.0 percent from three-point range.
 
Shelby Wiederhoeft (Truman, Minn./Truman) recorded a double-double while leading the team in scoring and rebounds with 12 points and 11 boards. Anna Cepek (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) had eight points and five rebounds. Jessica Englund, who got in foul trouble early, had six points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Vikings continued to have trouble with ball handling committing 25 turnovers compared to Wartburg’s 16.
 
The Vikings will play UW-Superior after the Christmas break on December 30th against UW-Superior at 6 p.m.
