Men's basketball defeats Crossroads 96-59

Mankato, Minn. – The Vikings got their first win of the season tonight defeating Crossroads 96-59.
 
Bethany Lutheran played a solid first half holding their opponent to 26 points while scoring 38. In the second half the Vikings increased their lead outscoring the Knight 58-33. Bethany shot 50.0 percent from the field and behind the three-point arc in the second.
 
Alex Weldon (Limar, Iowa/Linmar) led the Vikings with 18 points. He also had five rebounds and one steal. Gavin Kroehler (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) led the team in rebounds with seven. Kroehler also contributed eight points, two assists, two blocks and two steals. Garrett Benson (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) had 14 points shooting 4-7 from the field and 2-4 from three-point range. Derek Peterson (St. Paul, Minn./Tartan) had ten points and four assists. Patrick Garvin (Jackson, Minn./Jackson County Central) led the team in assists with seven.
 
The Vikings outrebounded Crossroads 50-38 and forced 21 turnovers. BLC only committed 14 turnovers.
 
Next, Bethany will take on Carleton at home on December 8th at 7 p.m.
