Box Score
Mankato Minn.- Bethany women’s basketball team lost to St. Scholastica 70-61. With the loss the Vikings need to win the last two games, and have Martin Luther lose both contests this weekend, in order to advance to the UMAC Post-season Tournament as the fourth seed.
Bethany got out to a very cold start in the first half, going into halftime down by 20 points. The Vikings shot a season low 19.2 percent from the field in the first half, however made up for it from the free-throw line making 11 of 15. Bethany cut the lead down to single digits in the second half, but didn’t have enough energy to complete the win.
Bethany was led again by Jessica Englund (Andover Minn./ St. Francis) who had 23 points and 12 rebounds. The other two Viking players in double-figure point totals were, Emily Schrupp (Norwood, Minn./ Mayer Lutheran) and Kelsie Ammann (Lakeville, Minn./ Lakeville North).
The Vikings will complete the season next weekend when they play host to Northwestern and Crown on Friday and Saturday respectively. The Vikings are now 8-14 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
