Morris, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran offense had a tough time stringing together hits today, but still managed to win a single nine inning game against the MN-Morris Cougars 6-2.

Justin Kohls (Watertown, Minn./Dakota County CC) bumped his record to 8-0 with another win pitching seven innings allowing one earned run on six hits. He struck out nine batters and walked two before Garrett Benson (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Mayo) took over for the final two innings. Benson allowed three hits and one run.

Lead off hitter Zach Herd (Gaylord, Minn./Sibley East) went three for four, one of which was a triple. He scored two runs with some help from Trent Sonnicksen (Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth Area) who had two RBI on one hit. Dylan Gass (Bird Island, Minn./BOLD ) also had a solid day at the plate going two for three with two RBI.

The Vikings were clean from the field committing no errors. BLC left seven on base and couldn’t pull together an inning with more than one run.

Bethany Lutheran will play MN-Morris again tomorrow in a doubleheader starting at noon.
