Mankato, Minn. – Incoming freshman, and former Mankato East player Adam Geiger (Mankato, Minn./Immanuel Lutheran) is gaining recognition playing outstanding summer ball for the Mankato Mets Amateur Team.
The local standout is batting .500 with the Mets, and .493 on his Mankato Post #11 Legion Team. Between the two teams in 109 at bats Geiger struck out just three times. He recorded 10 doubles, six triples, four home runs, and 53 RBI this summer season with the playoffs still left on the schedule.
Geiger’s statistics at Mankato East were equally as impressive batting .500 in 2010, and .471 in 2011. He had a total of 13 home runs in his junior and senior campaign, along with 57 RBI. In addition to the numbers, the versatile player was a Minnesota Lions All-Star, and named All-State in his last two years at East.
The Vikings look forward to adding Geiger to the roster, along with numerous other incoming players with impressive resumes. Make sure to follow Geiger and the baseball team during their non-traditional fall ball season once school begins.
