Men's basketball wins in overtime at Minnesota-Morris

Morris, Minn. – The Vikings prevailed in a challenging game that went into overtime. Bethany defeated Minnesota-Morris 79-75.
 
BLC was down by four at halftime after getting off to a fast start. The squad came back to tie the game 69-69 in regulation. The Vikings scored 10 points in overtime to solidify the victory. Five points were from BLC free throws, the other five were from Alex Weldon (Marion, Iowa/Linmar).
 
The Vikings shot 48.0 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three-point range. The Cougars shot 44.7 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from behind the arc. Minnesota-Morris only made 67.6 percent of their free throws while Bethany was consistent shooting 84.6 from the charity stripe.
 
Gavin Kroehler (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) led the team offensively with 20 points. He also had five rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block. Derek Peterson (St. Paul, Minn./Tartan) had 16 points and led the team in rebounds with nine. Peterson added three assist and two steals. Weldon ended up with 15 points, four rebounds, two steals and one block. Patrick Garvin (Jackson, Minn./Jackson County Central) led the team in assists with seven, he also had five points, five rebounds and two steals.
 
The Vikings will play Presentation in Aberdeen, S.D. tomorrow at 5 p.m. BLC is now 6-9 overall and the only team in the UMAC with an undefeated conference record at 4-0.
