Wartburg holds women's basketball offense to season low

Waverly, Iowa – The women’s basketball team had a difficult game versus Wartburg on the road falling to the Knights 32-77.
 
The first half left the Vikings down 15-29 after shooting just 14.29 percent from the field. The second half adjustments did not make a difference as BLC was outscored 17-48 in the final 20 minutes of the game.
 
Bethany shot 18.8 percent from the field and 17.6 percent from three-point range. They were an uncharacteristic 11-20 from the charity stripe. The Wartburg Knights shot 48.5 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from the arc. They were 11-16 from the free throw line. The Vikings were outrebounded 51-29 and had 22 turnovers compared to their opponent’s 12. Wartburg scored 25 points off of Bethany turnovers and had 44 points in the paint while the Vikings had six.
 
Jade Pelzl (Rushford, Minn./UW-Eau Claire) led the team in points with 10. She also had two steals and two rebounds in her 30 minutes. Kelsie Ammann (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) had seven points and three rebounds. Kasslin Swenson (Nicollet, Minn./Nicollet) led the team in rebounds with five.
 
Coming up for the women’s basketball team is a match-up versus Coe. The Vikings will host the Kohawks on December 6th, game time is set for 7 p.m.
