Women's basketball falls to Dutch on the road

Pella, Iowa – The women’s basketball team fell to the Central Dutch 48-78 on the road. The Vikings are now 1-6 this season.
 
Bethany went into the locker room down 22-38 and was outscored 26-40 in the second half. The Vikings shot 26.9 percent from the field and went 2-15 from behind the arc to shoot 13.3 percent from long range. From the charity stripe BLC went 18-24. Central recorded 50.0 percent from the field and had a 41.7 three-point shooting percentage. The Dutch were 23-31 from the free throw line. The Vikings were outrebounded 40-32. Central had 22 second chance points while Bethany scored nine.
 
Kasslin Swenson (Nicollet, Minn./Nicollet) led Bethany with 19 points, six rebounds and six steals. Jade Pelzl (Rushford, Minn./UW-Eau Claire) contributed nine points and five rebounds. She also had two steals and one assist. Freshman Briana Brandts (St. James, Minn./St. James) led the team in rebounds grabbing eight boards.
 
The next game for Bethany will be on December 13th at 6 p.m. when the Vikings host Dubuque.
