Women's basketball defeats Northwestern on the road

St. Paul, Minn. – The women’s basketball team stayed in the hunt for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Post-season Tournament by defeating the Northwestern Eagles 63-51.
 
The Vikings got off to a fast start and kept the lead throughout the game. Bethany shot 39.0 percent from the field while holding the Eagles to 31.7 percent from the field. The Vikings had 28 second chance points while Northwestern only managed four.
 
Jessica Englund (Andover, Minn./St. Francis) led the team in points with 22, she also had eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal. Anna Cepek (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds, she also had three assists, one block and one steal.
 
The Vikings will play on the road against the Crown Storm tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the last regular season game of the year. Bethany is 7-17 overall and 6-7 in the UMAC.
