Women's basketball advances to the UMAC post-season with win over Crown

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The women’s basketball team secured the fourth seed in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Post-season Tournament with a win over Crown 89-53.
 
Bethany shot 40.5 percent from the field while Crown shot 32.2 percent from the field. The Vikings outrebounded the Storm 61-31.
 
Anna Cepek (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) and Jessica Englund (Andover, Minn./St. Francis) each had a double-double. Cepek had 23 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Englund had 15 points, 10 rebounds and a team high six assists. Jade Pelzl (Rushford, Minn./UW-Eau Claire) also had six assists. Amanda Edmison (Mayer, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) had 13 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Vikings finished the UMAC regular season in fourth place and will advance to the post-season tournament. They will play at the number one seed Martin Luther on Wednesday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. BLC is 8-17 overall and 7-7 in the conference.
