Box Score 2 Minneapolis, Minn. – The Vikings swept Carleton in a doubleheader winning 5-1 and then 4-0 in the Metrodome.
Game One (W 5-1)

Aaron Siefken (Lone Rock, Iowa/Iowa Central CC) was on the mound earning his second win of the season. He pitched the full game recording eight hits in seven innings with nine strikeouts and two walks.
The Vikings scored three in the second to give them an early lead. The first run came when Clint Aretz (NYA, Minn./Ridgewater CC) scored on an error by the catcher. Then Adam Geiger (Mankato, Minn./Immanuel Lutheran) doubled batting in Travis Fisher (Cedar, Minn./St. Francis) who had previously singled. Lucas Herd (Gaylord, Minn./Sibley East) hit a sacrifice fly to bat in Geiger.
Bethany solidified the win with two more runs. Geiger had another RBI with a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Jeremy Bade (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) also hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Bethany had five runs on seven hits and no errors. Carleton scored one run on eight hits and had four errors.
Game Two (W 4-0)
Box Score
Jordan Sinell (Le Sueur, Minn./Minnesota State, Mankato) and Garrett Benson (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) split time on the mound in game two. Sinell went four innings giving up four hits. He struck out two batters and walked another. Benson came in for the last three innings with out giving up a hit. He also struck out two batters and walked one.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Sam Stier (Austin, Minn./Pacelli) singled for an RBI. Then in the bottom of the sixth Geiger hit his first home run in a Viking uniform to bat in Casey Woodside (Albert Lea, Minn./Minnesota-Crookston) and Herd who both reached on singles.
The Vikings scored four runs on six hits without committing any errors. Carleton was unable to score on four hits. The Knights also did not have any errors.
With these wins the Vikings improve their record to 3-1 before heading to Tucson, Arizona for a spring break trip where they will play eight games.
