Mankato, Minn. – The Vikings got off to a slow start but turned up the intensity in the second half to get a runaway victory over the Presentation Saints 95-61.
The Vikings shot a very high 59.4 percent from the field while holding their competitor to 37.5 percent from the field. Bethany also did well behind the three-point arc shooting 42.1 percent from long range. Presentation shot 30.3 percent from three-point range. The Vikes outrebounded their opponents 42-32 and scored 20 points off of turnovers.
The Vikings had 13 players record points. Gavin Kroehler (Le Sueur, Minn./Le Sueur-Henderson) led all scorers with 19 points. Alex Weldon (Marion, Iowa/Linmar) had 17 points, six rebounds and three assists. Derek Peterson (St. Paul, Minn./Tartan) led the team in rebounds with seven, he also added 12 points, five assists and two steals. Patrick Garvin (Jackson, Minn./Jackson County Central) led the team in assists with six. Garvin also contributed seven points and five rebounds.
Bethany will play its last home game of the regular season tomorrow, February 4 at 5 p.m. against Minnesota-Morris. The Vikings improve to 11-9 overall and 9-0 in the conference.
