Tennis swept by St. Scholastica

Duluth, Minn. – The men’s and women’s tennis teams were swept again, this time by St. Scholastica. Both the men and women fell to the Saints 0-9.
 
On the men’s side, the best performance for Bethany in the singles competition came form Nickolas Croy (Tacoma, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran) who fell 0-6, 2-6. David Blumer (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain), Aaron Wiechmann (Savage, Minn. / St. Croix Lutheran) and Mark Gullixson (Madison, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) all managed a point to fall 0-6, 1-6.
 
In the doubles competition the pair of Peter Londgren (Charlevoix, Mich./Charlevoix) and Gullixson did best falling 2-8.
 
For the women, Rebecca Nuemann (Hartland, Wis./Luther Prep) came closest to her competitor falling 3-6, 1-6. Marta Faugstad (Mankato, Minn./Mankato East) fell 1-6, 1-6. Rebecca Kopacek (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) and Ellen Tommerdahl (Champlin, Minn./West Lutheran) each managed a point falling 0-6, 1-6 and 1-6, 0-6 respectively.
 
In the doubles competition the team of Alyssa Rau (Sarona, Wis./Rice Lake) and Faugstad did best falling 3-8.
 
Next, the Vikings will travel to Martin Luther on April 17th. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
