New Ulm, Minn. – The tennis teams were unable to get past Martin Luther as both the men and women fell to the Knights.
 
The men did not score falling 0-9. Nick Croy (Tacoma, Wash. / Evergreen Lutheran) had the best performance for the Vikings falling 3-6, 0-6 in the number five spot. Bethany’s number one David Blumer (Lakewood, Colo. / Green Mountain) fell 0-6, 2-6. Aaron Wiechmann (Savage, Minn. / St. Croix Lutheran) in the four spot fell 2-6, 1-6.
 
In the doubles competition the pair of Mark Gullixson (Madison, Wis. / Lakeside Lutheran) and Peter Londgren (Charlevoix, Mich. / Charlevoix) showed the best for the Vikings falling 2-8.
 
The women’s tennis team managed a little better against the Knights falling 2-7. Bethany’s number four Ellen Tommerdahl (Champlin, Minn. / West Lutheran) was the only Viking to win in the singles competition. She defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-2. Bethany’s number one Rebecca Kopacek (Maple Grove, Minn. / Osseo) put up a fight falling 5-7, 3-6.
 
The doubles pair of Kopacek and Brooke Osmundson (Delavan, Minn. / Maple River) defeating their counterparts 8-4.
 
Next, the Vikings will travel to Minnesota-Morris on April 18th to play at 3 p.m.
