Baseball ends season with loss to Northwestern

Duluth, Minn. – The Vikings fell short of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship game after being defeated 4-0 by Northwestern in the semifinal elimination game.
 
Jordan Sinell (Le Sueur, Minn./Minnesota State, Mankato) started on the mound for the Vikings going six innings. He gave up seven hits and four runs, three of which were earned. He stuck out four batters and walked none. Travis Fisher (Cedar, Minn./St. Francis) came in for the final three innings. Fisher allowed just one hit and struck out three batters. He also didn’t walk any batters.
 
Bethany managed three hits. Tommy Kramer (Blooming Prairie, Minn./Rochester CC), Dylan Gass (Bird Island, Minn./BOLD) and Jeremy Bade (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) each logged a single. The Vikings had more errors than hits committing four errors in the field.
 
Northwestern had one error in the field and left six on base. Bethany left five on base.
 
The Vikings finished the season 22-17 overall and 14-5 in the UMAC. Bethany placed second in the conference during the regular season to eventual post-season champions St. Scholastica.
