Bethany falls to Augsburg in home opener

Mankato, Minn. – In the Bethany women’s soccer home opener the Vikings took on Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member Augsburg. Bethany fell to the Auggies 0-6.
 
The Vikings were outshot 24-9. Bethany had all nine shots in the first half of the game while Augsburg took 10 of their shots in the first half. Augsburg dominated the second taking 14 shots while the Vikings were unable to get a shot off.  Augsburg also had 12 corner kicks, BLC did not have any.
 
Emily Biggs (Hubert, N.C. / Swansboro) was the most active on offensive taking three shots for the Vikings. Between the pipes junior Alexa Mowery (Fairmont, Minn. / Fairmont) and freshman Patience Esunis (Harvard, Ill. / Harvard) split time. Mowery had Esunis each allowed three goals and saved five others.
 
The Vikings will take on Finlandia on September 9th at 1 p.m. in hopes of achieving their first win of the season. Bethany is currently 0-2-1.
